Business Statistics - General Description

This course is a comprehensive business statistics course, which is offered as a core course in many Colleges and Universities.  This course covers methods of describing and presenting data sets - Descriptive Statistics.  The heart of the course is aimed at the understanding and applying Inferential Statistics.  Inferential Statistics makes extensive use of such techniques as confidence intervals and hypothesis testing for both one populations and two or more populations.  The course is not a taught on a mathematical basis.  This course is aimed at practical applications, which enables mid and upper management to make better decisions in a business climate of uncertainty.   Additional information is included aimed at improving  forecasting techniques for companies using such techniques as moving averages, time series, regression - simple and multiple, and index numbers such as CPI.  Some attention is given to the process of quality control, since most companies must move toward six-sigma quality control to compete.
