L. Van Jones has been teaching for over 15 years at the University of Dallas, Texas Christian University and Dallas Baptist University.  He has successfully taught business statistics, financial accounting, marketing management and decision analysis courses.  He has developed and is currently teaching an on-line course in statistics for two universities - one local to his area and one in Missouri.

Dr. Jones brings to his teaching an entrepreneural background having been the successful owner of a restaurant, a land development company, a general contacting company and most recently an multi-million dollar insurance agency.  He has worked in the financial analysis field since his graduation having taken on jobs in the large (Lockheed) to medium size business.  He fully understands what it takes to operate the small to medium size business from sales to marketing to production to finances to human resources.  He knows how to deal with bankers, financal institutions, governmental agencies, suppliers, advertisers and consultants.  He knows what it is to make a payroll.  He has "been there and done that" as he often says about himself.

Dr. Jones has a unique ability to take rather complicate subject matters and communicate them in a rather un-threatening and understandable manner.  He believes the Business Statistics course is one which most students fear. He has taken the fear out of it and placed it in a much less threatening environment.  Dr. Jones is available via email and often responds to queries as soon as they are received from the student.  His philosophy is that the more rapidly the Professor responds, the more readily the student will understand the material.

His academic education includes two earned doctorate degrees, one from Tyndale Theological Seminary and the other from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary.  His undergraduate and masters work was accomplished at Texas Christian University,  where his undergraduate degree and his MBA were earned in business with minors in economics and statistics.
